Docker's MCP Gateway is a highly configurable container-based solution for conveniently managing your local and remote MCP servers. After experimenting with its catalog and profiles features, I am holding off publishing an article. There are a few limitations associated with catalog and profile management preventing me from creating a demonstrable solution.

My interest in MCP Gateway is the ability to create custom catalogs for your locally built MCP's doing such tasks as code analysis and RAG-based queries. Then configuring those MCP servers along with select remote MCP servers.
